The Last night at NPL

The hallowed portals of National Physical Laboratory, where i stepped in, 2 months back aspiring to be standing in its young scientist cadre...( not with a thick beard..or.long hairs)
has the most memorable space in heart.

Initial days, i was being anaylzed for my strengths and hold of basics in chemistry by my superiors...and scientists .."who lived" in the research.

It was amazing to see...such integrity, passion and enthusiasm for science and technology in denizens of this sacred clique. that is spoken and expected by our Missile man..our president Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam.

After first week of assessments and discussions with my guide (Sr. Scientist)..a MIT returned diamond..known in the NPL campus for his long beard and fierce passion for technology and life...we decided to work on NANOTECHNOLOGY.

Our work started..at a slow and steady pace...and gained momentum...day after day..there were cheers at every evening...long crispy discussions with a tea in hand...about the new results and their potential. NPL was my first home for those 2 months...i remember my mom calling me at 10 pm in night...just to hear..."Ma...i made nanocrystals today....its looking so good...can i come tommorow morning"..yeah...had my dinner..Dr will take care of that.!!

Dr ..my doctoral .and I..were a tripod legs..who would work together till morning..while turning on musicindiaonline radio..making tea 2 times in our new microwave oven .. sleep was something..that became alien to us...full masti at night ..is how i will term those sacred nights.

The last night....when we all worked..for a common goal...to get the CV characteristics of our nanosensor..was ultimate...we got series of results...some of them entralling...others made us hopeful...while some..were odd..!! well thats research...claimed Dr. suddenly at 4 AM...i saw a reason to fill that cold night with ..my not so good voice.......to be continued.....

The kausani expedition

It all started with a "yes, we want break" feeling, that we boarded our vehicles to get to see the nature in its purest and refreshing form.

Kausani, is a hill station 45 miles away from nainital. Yet it is not commerically very well developed like other famous tourists places....but one can attend the nature in its best form.
Our hopes of being a spectator to the great himalaya range dimished with the arrrival of monsoon clouds..the peaks werent visible. But not enough to loose our hope..cause we knew a heavy rain is all we need to get a clear view of himalayas..and subsequently a heavy downpour of water...made ambience clear to thousand of miles...and we standing at a height of 2600 ft above sea level..could see well, the awesome beauty of nandadevi peaks as well as the trishul peaks.

Next morning, we awake knowing we have to work hard all throught the day while visiting all major spots in kasuani. Of all, i can surely say the rudhradhari place...was the best to visit...situated right in the middle of dense forest was a waterfall...that was our goal. ..the jungle was more on the lines of corbett national park...we saw great diversification of wildlife ..and became spectator to the best of nature...we crossed fast flowing rivers....met dangerous yet astonishing creatures and animals...encountered a leopard...and were in ecstatic mood when we realized that the leopard got afraid, thus fled away and instead of vice-versa...now we were in the middle of jungle..moving on rocks...in between shrubs...right on our way to the waterfall...that was still 2 miles away....it was strange not to see any other human being...except us....and as rightly quoted by our little 10 year jungle denizen..zebu..."that he took us through a wrong way meant for jungle inhabitants only....the right way was a solid marble path..that lead directly to the waterfall....and that we were moving in b/w a jungle..just for his fun".....to be continued..

The man who stop the motor of the world

Its a story of a man who said that he would stop the motor of the world- and did.
Atlas shrugged is unlike any other book you have ever read. It has scope to change the thinking patterns of your life, it is breathtaking in its suspense. A question that keeps on coming throught the book..."Who is john galt?"....made sense when i came to know that this name...is no wind...he is real..and he is the one, who made the most popular invention of the world.

Its a story about a girl who stood by her terms, never yeilded to pain and suffering given as a gift for her iced faith by the world. She made a rail road, when it was termed disastrous to own a rail road...she stood alone defying the government policies that would hijack her personal peace of mind while everyone else yeilded to them.

Its a story about a man who made rearden metal....an alloy supposed to 100 time better then steel...who thought of nothing else but dreamt and produced the strongest metal on earth for the rail roads.... A man who defied all odds against him with utmost bravery and formidability but yielded to vested interests of crooks and looters...when they blackmailed him to defame his only umaterialistic love of life...a girl for whom he would do anything..

Ayn rand found the perfect artistic form to express her vision of tence. This is book that made her not only of the most popular novelist of our century, but also one of its most influential thinkers.
