Memories that still live with us

Yesterday , i was reading an article on brain...it said that the human brain is approximately 75% water. It also published if you could harness the power used by your brain, you could power a 10-watt light bulb.

Though I was amazed by this research, i also hoped that the article had published something on how much memory a human brain contains? How does it retain the things like "i ran on foot to the finish line after my bycycle broke down in cycling competition in school" yet it so swiftly erase the memory of things like... "the theories that i learnt by heart before my machine design examination in college" :)

Memories are so important to us. They give us a snapshot of what you truely are. It also gives you immense strength when you think about an accomplishment from the past.

There are beautiful memories from child hood such as what things would bring a smile on your sister's face. It provides you an instant access to the wonderful world, where you are a reigning champion.

I remember,
I used to cycle my way to the school alongwith my brother.
How we used to run our bicycles against hot and arid summer waves when mercury tocuhed 45 degree centigrate. Upon reaching home, mom would give us energetic lemonade with we could see she was proud of us.. That gave us the spirit and strength to achieve anything.
Both used to get soaked up with rain water during monsoon season.. and our teachers would scold us for coming in wet dress. All these are beautiful memories.

Today, even while working in till late nights in office, there are these memories..which brings smiles to our face even in pressure situation.

Another fact about brain...
...your brain is capable of having more ideas than the number of atoms in the known universe!

Writing this blog was one..!!!

Places to visit Austria

Visiting Austria. Office in capital Vienna. I should be exploring vienna as much as possible. But here i am all mingled up in work. Afterall thats the reason i am here. Documents..Meetings...Emails....weekends in office .....Get a B-R-A-K-E man!!!
I must not miss this chance to explore such a beautiful country.

Determined now ! I will explore atleast 5 amazing places here, so that i take back home beautiful memories of this trip.

I dug !

I dug up information about the good places to visit in vienna from people here. There is much to see. From Gothic St. Stephen’s Cathedral to the Imperial Palace to the Art Nouveau splendor of the Secession, from the magnificent baroque palace Schönbrunn to the Museum of Fine Arts to modern architecture at the MuseumsQuartier.

This weekend i plan to cover atleast following 5-> Dear Boss. dont expect me to be in office this time around :)
1) City Center at StephanPlatz.
2) River Danube strech
3) MuseumsQuartier and Castles
4) Vienne woods
5) I plan to sit in the train and explore the whole city.

There is hardly a city in the world that boasts as much green as Vienna. Enjoyment in Vienna ...
... is, for me at least, the great diversity of art, architecture, events and culinary highlights. More to come......

Lunatic

There is no better way to accept criticism :
You may be right
I may be crazy
But it just may be a lunatic your looking for
It's too late to fight
It's too late to change me
You may be wrong for all i know
But you may be right

Thanks Billy. You have penned my thoughts!

Biking on the streets

Cant stop appreciating vienna's culture of cycling. People of all ages use a cycle to cover short distances. A concept started here by the government and the private participants has been fully adopted be the denizens of the city. You go to any city bike center and hire a Cycle. You are chared on the per hour usage of the cycle. And if the cycle is returned within one hour, no renting charge will be applied. Bingo! Free of Cost.
Whats more ?
One enjoys moving around the city, stays fit . Biking is in FASHION here!!

Summer is Super - Cool

Almost April End, the sun is shining extra this time around in delhi. Mercury has already crossed 40 Degree celsius mark. Thanks to my job, this time i dont have to beat the heat. Austria is taking care of it.

Summers have started in Austria also, but the temperature has reached a maximum of 18 Degrees in Vienna. Althoughmore, people come out on streets and call it a classic weather when sun is at shining best. They enjoy sun bath, had they been to india during this period of the year, they will change their definition of 'Summers- A sesaon to enjoy the blues of city' to 'Summers- A reason to be at home' :)

I can't get no satisfaction

Laid back on the chair, i am smiling
Pondering , thinking , amazed at the virtues of life
This journey of desires is unending.
Life moves in leaps , whence searching for sparkle
Just when it is achievable, the search takes a new dimension

Here are few lines from the rolling stones :

I can't get no satisfaction
I can't get no satisfaction
cause i try and i try and i try and i try
I can't get no, i can't get no

Is Nano worth it!

Prized that 1 lakh, is it worthwhile to purchase The Nano Car

Here is why , i decided not to go for it:
Before jumping to any conclusion, i had to clear why i should purchase a Nano.

(A)Its Cost effective in 2 terms
1)Will come at base price of 1 lakh.
2) It has an average of over 20(As claimed by Tata group)

(B) Its size is bigger . It can accomodate 4 people easily.

(C) A smaller car is easier to drive on Delhi roads and Parking is lot more easier for a small car than a big car.

(D) Being a tata car, spare parts will be easier to get and will also be cheaper.

Besides, these 4 points, i dont see any point which can motivate me to purchase a car.

Now, Here are the reason why i am not going for Nano purchase . I already have a Ford Icon. The reason i was looking towards Nano was the fuel economy. As i have to move to gurgaon everyday for office. almost 40 kms approx one side from my home.

But following points- made me think twice for the NaNo purchase.

A) 1 Lakh car..nah! its on road price will come to 1.22 Lakh and with the kind of atmosphere in Delhi. Pollution as well as temperature in summers, one must have an A/C supported in the car.
A/C version of car wil come a around 1.5 Lakhs.

B) For a new car Insurance cost is also high.

C) Dont forget, the depreciation of the Car

For me its better to ride to my office by my Icon . In a year i can spend 15 K more on fuel, but this difference in economy is almost offset by the Nano depriciation. And Nano can never beat Ford Icon in driving comfort.

Glad, that i am over this Nano decision now.

Nano is Na-No

Incredible run for Brawn GP

1 and 2, they dont believe it. Nor did anyone who watched Australian grand Prix on Sunday. Never has happened in the history of Forumla 1, that a team debuted with 1st and 2nd position at the podium. It was a scintillating race with lots of actions and lots of drama.

Brawn GP , a new forumla team owned by virgin group chairman Richard Brawnson had such a delighted and a popular victory . Brawn GP have risen from the Honda ashes. They took the old honda car and put into it a new mercedes engine. Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, drivers of brawn gp came 1 and 2 respectively. They both showed an absolutely amazing performance on the teams debut. They have become legends now. Such an eventful race. It was such a measured victory. Unique solutions in the front wing and the flooring have worked magic for the brawn GP.

This is just a start. Can they continue this in the season ahead?

Formula1 2009 Commences Today- Australian Grand Prix

Melbourne will witness today the brand new Formula 1 -2009 season. Amids plenty of sunshine and people of 159 nations, sunday will be marked by a fierce competition of cutting edge technology and human brawn.

Such a thrilling year last year. With hamilton being crowned as the WorldChampion, lot of people wanted Fellipse Massa to be the champion, Fellipe lagged by only 1 point. This time around, eyes will be hooked on to the rookie Sebastian Vettel of the red bull team. Having created an enormous interest in him by this Formula 1 win last year, and also granering critcisim for a bad performance in A1 GP, makes him a surprise package for F1 this year.

This year also witnessess the introduction of KERS into F1. Renault will be the first team to use Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS) . In short, this is regenerative braking technology which converts the heat energy wasted during braking of the car into the kinetic energy, giving a huge boost to the car's speed. This can be critical during the race defining moments, where mili seconds makes decision.

This yar also masks the beginning of a new team, BRAWN GP. Honda pass ownership of their Formula One team to team principal Ross Brawn in early March. The team is renamed Brawn GP for the 2009 season.

Having secured both pole positions in the Asutralia qualifying round, where other mighties like Ferarri and McLAren struggled to secure even 5th position, makes this race even more interesting to watch. Is it an emergence of a new era, owned by the likes Brawn?

Some people just do it!...flutter!

Ever thought why some people just do the things..whiltst rest just flutter about them?

Recently, one of my college mate appeared in the newspaper for all the good reasons...she has made a website which will be beneficial for people interested in stock trading. Another guy created flutter by making a unique rickshaw which he claims would be used in NASA. A friend of one of my colleagues has directed a movie and he is claimed to become a huge success in coming years. The point is...every here and there i get to hear about a lot of talent! And frankly speaking on an indivudal level i find immense talent in every 2nd person i meet. But what wonders me..is why just a handful of people make it to the top..while others just flutter. At such times i think, its better to create news rather than read a news and create flutter.

Now i realize...i have used this word flutter a many number of times in this post; which signals i should stop sinking in too deep. Or i would create flutter among my peers with a news like:"A mother in her house found his son frozen in their refrigerator . It seems the boy was trying to create a flutter among his friends by setting a new world record of surviving chilling temperature of their new whirlpool frost free surround air freezer."

Well..this is not exactly what i want to do to my life? :)
