5 Breaks Night

Tonight was one of the most fun filled nights i have had in quite some time. Reminiscent of the nightouts that in the college. It was 5 breaks night. My friend buzzed me around 7 PM , i was still working in office waiting for the clock hands to strike 7.30 to catch my cab which takes me back to home. He offered me to drop at home by his car and planned to stop for maggie from the famous roadside magggie walla.

5 breaks night

This story circumlocutes Myself, My friend and His Blue colored Maruti 800(93 model) Car. Car which was in shambles. At first look, this crumbling didnt look strong enough to carry a "1 quintal" person plus a "half quintal" person to their destination 50 kms away. Nevermind..the Manoromic Journey had just begun amidst Cool weather and strong winds.

1st Break: The car stopped in the 5 km of this 50 km long journey. And i found myslef laughing and making calls to friends..meanwhile my friend looked into the issue only to find out that "The car's got heated up, We need to wait till it Cools down ".

It seems a waiting time of nearly 20 minutes wasnt good enough to coool the car..So we Push Started the Car.. I pushed it ..for 200 mtrs.. with all the energy. The damnit started and we rolled.

2nd, 3rd and 4th Break:
Our happiness was short lived as the car had its own course. It stopped whenever and wherever she wanted to..in the middle of a busy road, on a sharp turn...or just short of an incline. The places kept on changing, but the only helping hand rather "my pushing hand" was always there...behind it.

5th Break :
By now i was pretty comfortable with this whole game, i felt no shame in getting out and making the car run with my hand..infact i felt a sense of accomplishment everytime i started it by pushing. But this final...break..was may be due to empty tank..and this was the last worst thing that could happen. No petrol means..a still car..which cant be started even by pushing. Luckily, we reached a nearby petrol pump. And this time...we asked the service men at the gas station to push the car. Only to be stopped by a sardarji who requested us to push his car( ha ha....this fateful night had even more targets). We chuckled and knowing our bad condition, decided to help this man and his ailing car. We pushed his car..not by our hands though. This time we did it with the help of our car which was still running. My friend slowly..stapled our car's front to the sardarji car's back and pumped our car..wonderfully...the car started! We recieved a thumbs up as a gesture of thanks...and moved on !!!

I have no reason to condemn my friend's car. For it gave me a wodnerful break from the daily hustle and bustle. I had not laughed this much in past few months. Altough i dont wish to be in such situation again, still what more to expect in a cool windy night?

If i were.....

Imagination Unlimited. Thats what is flashed right at top of my blog.
In this post i am willing to expand my wings of imagination. I am going to pen down my first thoughts on the topics which will start like "If i were......".
I expect you to do the same excercise and lets pleadge to bravely pen our first thoughts and nothing else...even if its a bit crappy.. I am saying this..cause u can expect crappy stuff from my side as well. :)

Ok. Lets start:

1) If i were still a final year student of my college : I would have shaven my head, In office, i just cant do it.

2) IF i were a president: I would have aspired to become the prime minister, he holds the power to India.

3) If i were not working at the Present Company: I would be working at some butcher house..atleast there i would be killing ...instead of being slaughtered.

4) If i were in army: I would be distributing bombs to my relatives on diwali.

5) If i were a women: I would have gone for plastic surgery, As i dont look good but I want to take part in Miss India Contest.

6) If i were at my dads place: I would have let my son break his P.T. teacher teeths when she slapped him infront of whole school..primarily infront of the girl he liked.

7) If i were alone in an Island : No idea, i need people to talk..!..I will befriend the monkeys. I want to learn to climb and jump from tall tress without falling.

8) If i were alone in a desert: Cant do much...will make Vitamin D in wholesale.

9) If i were having a ferrari: Wud have never joined a software firm.

10) If i were an idiot: Whats new...i Still Am !

Is it time to CoMe OuT oF CrIcKeTt?

They say cricket is a Gentelmen's Game. 5 day test match, its an agni pareksha of any team's ability, it is gruelling! Then comes, the thrilling One day International, a nail biting phenomenon and latest to join the cricket club is the classy "20-20" which could be compared to a see-saw game where even the under-performers register wins over talented teams. Being a part of nation, where cricket is a religion; I had intially no choice but to follow it. Although i did like to play it (" i am a left arm fast bowler and right handed batsman") but i dont have a genuine flair for this game. Moreso, it's been 15 years that i have followed this game, but now we have got choices. Formula 1, Tennis, Golf, Football, Baseball, BasketBall, Table Tennis, Billiards, Rugby.
Now, with the age of technological advacements more sophistication is incorporated in all such sports. All major tournaments in these sports are now broadcasted on ESPN, Star Sports and Ten Sports.

India has vowed to become an economic power house of world in next 20 years, we also hold the prestige of running the largest democracy in the world. We registered ourselves as a Nuclear Power long time back. I think, it's high time that india showed its prowess in sports arena also. Sports are the inside view of any nation's strength. They not only showcase Nations Youth determination but also put a nation at the same platform vis a vis other mighty countries. After IT , Telecom and Business Ventures, it can be sports which will lead India to foray into the still unkown territories and make herself known, before we declare ourselves a Developed Economy.

Besides all above, it will also embolden indian youth with career opportunties in other sports . All these games are being followed all around the world. We need to come out of Cricket and embrace other sports with open hands. The condition of hockey , our national game is not hidden. Why is that, despite huge efforts by the indian hockey federation, the game has not been able to gain its rightful position? Probably, ICL and IPL were better answers to the Hockey league matches. But When it comes to speed nothing matches a Ferrari. And thats where Formula 1 beats cricket.

Sports: Ferrari's all the Way to the Podium (Formual 1)

The Ferrari's dominated this years Bahrain Grand Prix played today on the circuit "Sakhir". Felipe Massa who held 2nd position in the qualifying converted it into the 1st on the race day. His team mate raining champion Kimi Raikonnen stood 2nd. It was again an impressive show by the BMW's , Robert Kubica finsihed 3rd in the Race.

Disappointment surrounded the Mclarens-Mercedes in todays race. Lewis hamilton despite among the leaders in the qualifying couldnt fetch a single point. He had to suffer to a mechanical fault that occured in his car during the first lap.

Massa bagged the first position here after not having won a single point in the First 2 grand prix's. In all his was a marvelous performance. In the wake of ferrai, BMW's again proved they have the speed, the technology and a team that can beat Mclaren's hegemony in the F1 championship.

Alonso survived a major brush against Hamiltons car to take 10th place. Today's result puts Raikonen in the Lead for the Driver championship with 19 points, ahead of Heidfield on 16.
In the constructors’ chase, BMW Sauber lead with 30, ahead of Ferrari on 29 and McLaren on 28.

Sports: BMW Overtaking Ferrari (Bahrain GP)

I think, i am now perfectly suitable for MBA. My risk taking abilities are just finding the right direction. This time i told my boss that BMW is gonna get the pole position, instead of choosing from the favourites Ferrari and Maclaren.

On Saturday, BMW's Robert Kubica(Polish) went on for the maiden pole position in the qualifying round of Sakhir(The Bahrain Circuit) and has set the cat among the pigeons . Second and third place was bagged by Felipe Massa (Brazilian) and the (briton) Lewis Hamilton.

Kubica deserved it, after pushing hard for the rest of the lap, despite big vibrations, after he flat-spotted a front tyre in Turn. Kimi Raikkonen (Ferraru) looked a bit disappointed with his ferrari's balance but hes not let go of it like this and will be agressive on the race today on sunday.
The race braodcast will start on starsports at 4.00 PM (IST). I will be back with Post Race Analysis (My Own Chequered Flag) :)

What my Lunch Time means to me?

I was thinking..about the best part of my typical day.
I took up this activity quite seriosuly, so that once decided, i can do more of that work and thereby increase my level of happiness or the "fun quotient" in my life.

Before jumping to the answer i have pondered over it for few minutes:
1) Can it be the 3 hours travelling time? ..NO!... My good friend doesnt sit with me now...i am rather bored during the journey However, i m quite happy for her... "someone reading this knows whom i m refering to :)"

2) Can it be ..the 10 hours of software development work where i feel more like a slaughtered pig...certainly not!

3) Can it be the time after i reach home?... .its been over a month that the amount of time that get for home is on an average 7 hours. Out of this 7, i use 5 hours for sleeping, and rest of the time gets divided into eating, drinking, bloggin, bathing and getting myself dressed.

4) Lunch time: It happens primarily between 1 PM to 2 PM. YEAP! :)
Its the lunch time that i cherish the most during my whole day. I think , i cant do justice to this 1 hour , even if i write it in 1000 lines.

To start with, its the only life saving supplement that i have in my whole day. Its a joy ride. It starts with Smiles on our faces and ends with a gulab-jamun. 7 friends meet together on a lunch table and decide their future course of action to prevent their life from being lost in the world of softwares. It is this time, that our hidden talents peeps out from our resting souls.
Discussions range from Osama to Sania Mirza, from grass eating animals to sea creature like octopus, from my boss to hi boss to her boss, from IT to Finance to Event Management, from shaddi.com-to- second shaddi.com -to- third shaddi.com. All this is done with a primary goal- Laughter! It refreshes the sleeping person inside us, just like a holi dip in ganga. I cant even imgaine my life now without this 1 hour of Laughter therapy. I so badly need it, so do you, shishir :) i m sure.

P.S.
Sakshi, Priyanka, Shishir, Neeraj, Shilpi, Aditi and Shivani. Thanks a tonne for this good time that i am relishing so much. I know, its very tough for you guys to bear my ideas some times...but than...if i am not present who is going to extract gulab jamun treats from prinks :)

Quick facts about Bahrain F1 GP

Tommorow will be the day of the qualifying round of the Bahrain GP. It is the third F1 race of the season. With the first 2 races in the kitty of Ferrari and Mclaren, 1 each; its goning to be an another nail biting race between the 2 arch-rivals. Infact , BMW which has performed very well in this season till now by clinching 2 and 3rd postions , though they also stand a good chance to be part of the constructors championship.

Quick Facts about Bahrain Grand Prix :
The curcuit is known as Sahkir circuit
Its a curcuit with 57 Laps
Length of one lap is approx 5.5 km

Whats makes this race thrilling is that its curcuit is in the middle of a desert. Which makes this race tougher than other races. It has pumping winds, hot climate, sand and dust storms. What else to expect in a race?

My favourite this time would be kimmi raikonnen and why is that?
Kimmi have finished third in three successive times in Bahrain and Ferrari has traditionally been very strong there. But its a motor racing and what ever can happen.

After the new regualtions of the cars, anti skidding systems have been removed. Its going to be a tough season for all racers. This time they really have to fight for every point they can get.

Thats all from F1 corner..Will keep on updating.

Just another thought

Today, i could enter my home only by 1 AM. I was always a noctunal creature. But heres a difference. At other times i used to stay up till early morning so as to complete reading a novel or a movie.. However, these days, its the work at office which makes me burn the midnight oil.

2 conflicting thoughts surrounds me when i over work.
1) I see my colleagues, and other friends leaving office at time (6PM) and there i am staying till 11 PM, mostly working alone trying to understand the client requirements. I feel, if i am missing something in life or not?

2) Second thought, is attributed to my determination, a strong will, that i will never mind hard work for success. To achieve my goals as fast as possible.

By the time i reach home, its the 2nd thought which prevails over the 1st.

And to my mom whom i always say:

"Hum aise loggon mein se nahi...jo masti se kaam karte hain"
"Hum aise loggon mein se hain...jo kaam mein masti karte hain"

A date with Beautiful Weather

I was woken up by mom at 6.30 A.M IST
As ususal, i started my day by reading major headlines from the Hindu and beauiful tracks running on Radio Mirchi. Then i took the stairs up to reach the garden on our house roof. Much to my amusement, it was "Bindass Mausam". Cool Breeze was flowing, for 2 minutes i just stood there with closed eyes and had wind through my hairs. With 2 long breaths i opened my eyes, What a lovely weather; i said to myself and returned downstairs to get myself ready for the office.

During my 2 hour journey towards the office, i kept the windows open and consumed as much fresh air as i my lungs can take it.

Standing in front of my GG4 ASF towers, i felt no excitment to get to my cubicle, but then work has to be started, important client calls waiting...

Now the consequences of good weather:
1) Drank 5 cups of caffien today inorder to spend time in the balcony at 6th floor.
2) 1 hour of lunch instead of usual 20 minutes.
3) Left office at 6 PM instead of usual 10 PM... :P
4) Writing this entry sitting in the balcony..still enjoying the beautiful weather.

I am loving it. May tommrow be the same day.

Book Review Club

I have finally found the place wherein i can meet other book lovers.
An email from my office Library today called for nominations for a Book Review Club (BRC). And it didnt take me a second thought to apply for the membership.

Following opportunities would be available for grab in the BRC, the email said.
1) know the details / features of the book under review
2) read and recommend latest books (Associate can select title of their interest for reading and recommendation)
3) present / attend "Book Review" sessions
4) be declared as "Patron of the Library" and win award

I plan to take full benefit of the BRC in a way i would meet other readers, get to know about interesting titles and authors, i will also be able to get some hard to find books from other associates which i have been looking for quite some time now.

I also would like to suggest the members of the BRC and to the Library for forming another club which will make monthly newsletter. This will provide a platform to the people to show their writing skills, moreover they can write about their experiences with their projects or with the company or showcase a recent sonnet that they have written.

Last but not the least i plan to become the Patron of the Library and the Editor-in-Chief of the Newletter(if the plan gets an apporval).
